Community Consultation
Investec considers community consultation to be essential at all stages of the wind farm development. A four stage consultation process was implemented during the development phase of the project to ensure all stakeholders were well informed of the development.
Stage One
Consultation with the Shire of Merredin and various State agencies.
Stage Two
Consultation with landholders in the immediate vicinity of the project site via telephone and face to face meetings.
Stage Three
Consultation with the wider community through a Community Open Day.
Stage Four
Public advertising and review of the Planning application.
Next steps...
Planning approval has now been granted, the tendering phase is now complete, detailed design is underway and early works have commenced on site. Construction is expected to commence in May 2010.
Investec will ensure the local and wider Merredin community remains well informed of project activity through website updates, community information sessions, mailouts and local press outlets as the project progresses.
