A UNIQUE partnership between a giant wind farm, a 1920s theatre and a leading Australian puppetry company will see the stories and characters of a Wheatbelt town take centre stage in a new theatre show to premiere in a year's time.
Joining with the Shire of Merredin and Collgar Wind Farm, Spare Parts Puppet Theatre will visit Merredin to immerse itself in the lives of the community from November 11 to 22.
This is the first of two residencies as part of the development of a new show called Farm, which will premiere at Cummins Theatre in September next year.
Last Tuesday, Collgar Wind Farm chief executive Thomas Scott-Morey presented a $20,000 cheque, the first instalment, to Spare Parts Puppet Theatre. The second instalment will be presented in time for the theatre company's second residency program in Merredin around March next year.
